    TERMS & CONDITIONS OF HIRE

    1. DEFINITION

    A. Customer / Producer: is the person/company hiring the skip.
    B. Owners are AMP Waste Management Ltd.
    C. The term skip/equipment shall be deemed to be any type or number of skips, ro/ro containers, tipper grab trucks, tipper trucks.

    2. PERIOD OF HIRE

    Charges for hire of a 2, 4, 8, 12 CU YD skip are for 14 days includes collection and delivery. Skip will automatically be collected as soon as practicable after the 14 days unless an alternative arrangement was made at the time of booking. Roll-on-off containers period of hire must be agreed at time of booking.

    3. CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS

    The owner shall not be liable for any consequential losses, expenses, liabilities, claims or proceedings howsoever caused by, or arriving out of, late delivery, non delivery, collection or unsuitability of the equipment.

    4. PERMITS

    It is illegal to place a skip on a public highway without a permit from the local authority together with the correct signage and warning lights. We will be happy to make the necessary arrangements for you – the cost for this service available on request. Permits required are non-refundable. Roll-on-off skips are not permitted on the highway.

    5. ACCESS

    Access to where the skip is to be delivered must be free from obstruction. Where a driver arrives to make a delivery or collection and is unable to do so due to obstruction, the customer shall be liable to pay the owner the abortive delivery / collection cost incurred.

    6. SAFE KEEPING

    a) The customer is responsible for the safekeeping of the skip, the contents of the skip, cleaning up all debris and damping down the contents to prevent nuisance from dust.
    b) If a skip is damaged on site the owners will charge for a full replacement of same. Skips must be checked by the customer on delivery and all damage noted on the delivery ticket.

    7. MATERIALS NOT ACCEPTED

    The skip shall not be used for the deposit of hazardous, special or clinical waste, noxious, explosive, dangerous or offensive matter, batteries, tyres, paint, oil, asbestos, syringes, oil filters, fridges, freezers, TV’s, computer screens, gas bottles, plasterboards or gypsum products & carpets, all electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), solvents, liquids, wet concrete. If you have the above materials for disposal, please contact our office for a quote to remove same.

    8. OVERLOADING

    The customer is responsible for ensuring that the skips are not overloaded and in the event of a skip being overloaded, the direct cost of labour and additional skip hire will be charged to the customer.

    9. ROLL-ON-OFF (RO/RO)

    Our Roll-on-Off skips are delivered on a haulage and tonnage based price. A minimum of 3 tonnes will be added to the initial haulage charge. The weight of the waste in the skip is shown on the weighbridge ticket produced by our weighbridge, which is calibrated as per current regulations. Any waste weight in excess of the minimum 3 tonnes will be charged out accordingly. For non-account customers, this will be automatically taken from debit/credit card.

    10. OFF HIGHWAY

    In the event the customer requires the driver to deposit the skip off the highway, they do so entirely at the customer’s own risk. It is the responsibility of the customer to supply a banksman for safe off highway Delivery/Collections. The owners take no responsibility for any damage to property, pavements, driveways, manhole covers, gates, pillars, etc. The customer shall indemnify the owners against any liability loss, claims or proceedings arising from personal injury or death or any other damage to property etc.

    11. EQUIPMENT

    The customer is responsible for any damage or loss of the owner’s equipment whilst on hire.

    12. SKIP PRICES

    Prices are those quoted by the owner and referred to in any invoice issued.

    13. PAYMENT TERMS FOR ACCOUNT CUSTOMERS

    30 days from invoice date.

    14. OVERDUE PAYMENT

    It is the customer’s responsibility to pay invoices within the agreed period without the owner “chasing”, your credit account will be suspended if you do not keep within the agreed terms.

    15. DEBT RECOVERY COSTS

    All costs, charges and expenses incurred by the owner in recovering any debt shall be paid by the customer.

    16. PAYMENT TERMS FOR NON ACCOUNT HOLDERS

    The owner accepts major credit cards, debit cards and cash.

    17. THE CUSTOMER MUST:

    a) Not board up the side of the skip.
    b) Not light fires in the skip
    c) Not re-site the skip once it has been deposited by the owner.
    d) Guard the skip if on the public highway.
    e) Maintain the lights, if on the public highway, attached to the skip from half and hour after sunset to half an hour before sunrise.
    f) Ensure the highway is left clean and tidy and free from debris.
    g) Notify the owner when the skip is full.
    h) Immediately notify the owner of any accident or damage to or involving the skip.
